My purpose here on earth is to help you live life as you were designed. You are designed to thrive and I can show you how. 

I've worked hard my entire life, earned doctorates in dentistry and natural medicine, started 4 professional practices, and almost destroyed myself in the process. 

I am determined to not let that happen to you. 

It's my mission to help you eliminate your chronic stress and prevent debilitating burnout, so you can operate at peak performance ... mentally, emotionally, and physically - without years of therapy.



Here's My Story ...

Hard Work, Chronic Stress, Burnout, and Recovery

For better or worse, I've always been a hard worker who took great pride in doing things right ... aka "perfect". 

I still remember a time in third grade when I woke up in a cold sweat, because I'd forgotten to do a homework assignment that was due the next day. My perfect record was on the line if didn't get out of bed and finish that assignment.

Through my tears, I somehow convinced my Dad to let me get out of bed, so I can do what I do - achieve external victories and maintain an illusion of perfection.

That same perfectionist work ethic took me to the top tier of my dental school and naturopathic medical school graduating classes. 

Life felt like it was working out pretty well for quite a while. I had a rock-solid education, exceptional clinical skills, a beautiful family and a great income.

Sure, I was stressed ... but life had been hard for a long time, and I believed that I was built to handle the pressure of a high-achieving lifestyle. 

Imagine my surprise when the fog lifted, and I found myself living in a hell of my own making.

Turns Out I Wasn't Built for Pressure ...

I Was Deep in Denial

All those years of High Pressure and Chronic Stress eventually caught up with me. It honestly took me by surprise. I didn't see it coming. I thought I was built for pressure and could handle the stress of being a high-achiever. 

But I was wrong, .. REALLY, REALLY WRONG. 

I wasn't OK, and I couldn't handle the relentless pressure. I was in deep denial about the toll that Chronic Stress was taking on my Health, Wealth and Relationships. When reality set in, and the fog of battle had cleared, my entire life was in shambles

When I finally hit rock bottom, I had a chronic illness that caused me to lose my dental career ... FOREVER. I was divorced, on the brink of bankruptcy, deeply depressed, dependent on alcohol, and 50 pounds too heavy.

Part of me was desperate to escape and feel good again. Another part of me had given up and was positive there was no way out of my stress-filled life. 

That's When I Took a Long Hard Look at Myself ...

And figured out that my life, my wife, and my career had never been the problem. Something about who I was being had CAUSED the stress, the anxiety and the burnout. I somehow knew that I needed to change in order to get my life back on track. But I didn't know how or where to begin. 

I used my new-found free time to work on my life. This time, however, I stumbled upon my Inner World of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and subconscious programming, and that made all the difference.

My Outer World was the Effect My Inner World was the Cause

In the years leading up to my meltdown, I was doing "all the things" that people said I should do to deal with a high-pressure lifestyle:

  • I Exercised and had Good Nutrition
  • I Meditated and did Yoga
  • I Read Tons of Self-help Books
  • I attended Inspirational Workshops
  • I hired Counselors, Therapists, Consultants, and Coaches
  •  I played around with a Whole Bunch of Woo!

But none of those Outer World Strategies ever protected me from the the damage of Chronic Stress and Burnout. Now I know that's because they were addressing the EFFECTS and not the CAUSE of my Suffering

My Inner World of Thoughts, Feelings, Beliefs and Subconscious Programming was The CAUSE

My Stress, Anxiety and Burnout Were the EFFECTS 

Once I stumbled upon the TRUE CAUSE of my suffering, I was able to regain control of my life.

One of the very first concepts I learned in Naturopathic Medical School was the innate self-healing capacity of the body. When you remove the obstacles in the way of healing, the body takes care of the rest. I'm constantly blown away by the healing power of nature. 

The Self-Healing Mind

What I didn't learn back then was the mind can also heal itself. Simply remove the obstacles in the way of healing, and the mind takes care of the rest. It was the Obstacles in my Inner World that kept me Stressed and prevented a Calm, Clear, and Creative Mind. 

My Inner Obstacles:

  • My Thoughts and the meaning I gave to them
  • My Feelings and how seriously I took them
  • My Memories and what I made of them
  • My Beliefs and whether I questioned them
  • My Subconscious Programs that were running the show without my conscious consent

Now I'm Thriving by Design

While on my quest for personal healing, I learned about the inner workings of my mind and how to get the subconscious working for me instead of against me.

I learned how to rewire my brain for happiness and how to create new empowering beliefs that align with what I deeply, truly desire from life.

Along the way I became a Certified Professional Coach, a Certified Clinical EFT Practitioner, a Certified MAP Practitioner, and a Certified HeartMath Stress and Well-Being. Practitioner.

Now I'm truly Thriving, because I learned how to resolve the Inner World Obstacles that were keeping me from a healthy and happy mind.

  • I’ve lived most of my life in the U.S. West – Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
  • I spent a year in Louisiana where I was introduced to the concept of gators on the golf course.
  • I have two amazing kids who turned out pretty darn well.
  • My main form of recreation is motorcycle riding.
  • I'm a health nut, but believe all things in moderation ... especially moderation
  • I've worked as a dentist, a naturopathic physician, a holistic dentist, and finally a stress, burnout and peak performance coach - my dream career!

The primary tools I use from the field of energy psychology are: Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), The MAP Healing Method (MAP), Intention-Based Energy Process (IEP), and Matrix Reimprinting.

Why is Stress so Bad for Me?

Stress is no joke!

Chronic stress is known to play a key role in most every disease of modern living. Stress elevates inflammation, reduces immunity, consumes vital resources needed for repair, interferes with mental clarity and high-level decision making, and compromises the body’s self-healing capacity.

Stress also elevates the hormone cortisol. High levels of cortisol for long periods of time produce serious physical effects, such as: weight gain, heart disease, accelerated aging, and lowered immunity. Lowering your stress levels may add 10 years to your lifespan.

Finally, unmanaged chronic stress will eventually turn into burnout which can have devastating effects on every aspect of your life. 

Why do you Focus so Much on the Inner Game of Stress?

I focus on the Inner World because, that's where the cause of anxiety, stress and overwhelm is found. The only way to cure anything is to treat the cause … not the effect. Anything less is a temporary fix at best.

It may seem like circumstances in our Outer World create stress in our Inner World, but it doesn’t actually work that way. It's not our circumstances that cause stress, but rather how we perceive those circumstances and the meaning we give to them. We always perceive and give meaning to Outer World Circumstance through our Inner World filter of thoughts, feelings, beliefs and programing. When something happens in our outer life, we tend to believe that we are reacting to the thing that just happened. However, most of the time we are reflexively reacting to our subconscious programming, significant unresolved memories, or negative belief systems.  

When outer circumstances cause you to feel stressed or anxious, chances are, you aren’t upset for the reason you think. It’s more likely that the upset is like a dash of salt that hit a wound you didn’t know was there. The wound being a negative subconscious belief or significant memory that's not in alignment with the truth of who you are. When you address the Inner World, your perception of Outer World Circumstances changes accordingly. In the future the same outer circumstances can no longer trigger you into stress or anxiety.
